Because of this, you can do more than before. In other words, you aren't the only hero. The mechanics and structure of the game focus on the fact that there are other people in the world with you. Those people are going to be your greatest assets, as some battles are extremely difficult on your own. The story and game itself is much more linear to keep your world in a similar state as the people running around you.
As stated already, you won't be making personal choices. A major difference is the lack of social RPG element.
